PRE - PURCHASE
EXAMINATIONS

If it’s a weekend trail ride mate or your upper end athlete, making sure you have the right match for you is important.  A thorough pre purchase examination may help identify pre-existing or potential issues.

A basic pre-purchase exam consists of

  • Heart, and lung auscultation

  • Eye examination (ophthalmic)

  • Conformation analysis

  • Lameness and gait analysis

Blood work, diagnostic imaging, endoscopic and breeding examinations are optional and offered by NEVS. There is no “perfect” horse so an important aspect of a pre-purchase exam is discussing the pre-purchase results and how this will work in with your potential proposed use.

Dr Gray can cater for your needs and requirements as well as consult and provide advise to help your decision.
